Resume
Below is a copy of my current resume, that I like to keep updated as I go through my school and proffesional work. A resume is important in my life because it is your way to seperate yourself from other applicants, and give yourself a chance to add what skills you want to when an application may not present all the accomplishments that you think might show your qualifications and experience related to the job in which you are applying for.

I learned how to make a professional resume and cover letter in my LE-1220 class. I learned many things while building my resume, and things that make it stand out in oppose to those that don't. I learned to use strong "power" words in my resume to make my strengths stand out. For example the four steps to making a good resume includes; 1- Develop a career objective/personal profile, a brief statement that represents my key skills for the job in which I'm applying for. 2- Gathering Information to collect and arrange relevant information such as education, skills, employment, etc... 3- Proper layout for what your experience calls for, for example those with job experience should list that first, but if you don't have an extensive background to emphasize relevant skills. 4- Skills, accomplishments, and experience should be detailed, and you should list skills that are able to transfer to the job in which you are applying for.
I have had experience creating resume's in my professional life in the past but one thing I neglected to do when applying for jobs was to include a cover letter. I learned a lot when making my cover letter because I have never made one before. It is often the first impression a potential employer will have on you. I was required to do research on the company to show them I did my homework on them before applying. It shows them that after researching them that you believe your accomplishments, skills and experience will meet the employers needs. It's to show them what you can do for the company, not what they can do for you. It's another way to go in depth on how you will be a valuable asset to the company, therefore being another reason to hire you over someone else.
This class has taught me so much new information that I will bring with me into my professional life when applying for the perfect job. Having this knowledge will give me an advantage over the applicants who are not as prepared as I am now. I am excited to have had the opportunity to take a new step towards my goals.
